[S20.O1] Ensure Traffic Lights are ready so we can test the vehicle
Need to have the lights in the different configurations so we can test
them out.
[S20.O1.K1] Gather information we need to build the traffic lights
(Joint with test track infracture )
- How we will be setting up the 5 high traffic light electrically, how
many traffic lights we need to build (3 I think)
- Confirm previous info we have on the traffic lights.
- Look into the which type of controller we would like to use for
traffic lights
- How are we going to power the traffic lights
[S20.O1.K2] Come up with a design schematic/plan, how it fits into
the test track
- How are we going to incorporate the traffic lights into the test
track center we use in waterloo?
- Likely will need to sync up with the test track infra team for this
meeting.
- Review this design with the Drive Crew get their ideas/opinions
- Place orders for any of the items we will need to buy
[S20.O1.K3] Build one traffic light, and test
- Build one traffic light according to plan from previous step, and
try it out at the test track. How did it go?
- Come up with a plan to try to improve any flaws/ issues
[S20.O1.K4] Make changes to schematic as needed from previous test,
and build rest of the traffic lights
- Improve on any design flaws, and build the other traffic lights,
test are track and iterate design as needed.
[S20.O2] Blue light
Have Blue light ready for Comp
[S20.O2.K1] Connect the indoor blue light.
- Need to wire the indoor blue light and make sure it works in
autonomous testing mode.
- [Make sure it is visible from every seat in the car]
- [Ensure we meet all rules for the indoor blue light]
[S20.O2.K2] Move the outdoor blue light so that it is more
visible
- Make sure it works in autonomous testing mode.
[S20.O2.K3] Look into more secure connections for the blue light
- Currently the connections on the blue light are not very secure,
look into an alternate solution.
[S20.O2.K4] Come up with a procedure to debug any blue light issue
- First check if it is a hardware issue, then check whether it is a
software issue.
[S20.O3] Cable Management
Ensure Cabling in the car is very neat, allows for any hardware issues
to be debugged easily.
[S20.O3.K1] Inspect cabling, Talk to drive Crew and Derek and see if
there are any immediate areas of concern
- Improve these areas of concern
- Look into more secure ethernet connections (if possible), Novatel
wires become disconnected easily
[S20.O3.K2] Redesign of ACU (Autonomous Control Unit) board so that
it has a switch to turn on and off, make sure the CAN cables are out of
the way
- Currently when taking the car out to drive on the road ACU board
must be manually disconnected, come up with a design so that a
simple switch can be used.
- Look for schematic on Google Drive
[S20.O4] Test Track Dummy
Electric Test Track Dummy
[S20.O4.K1] Design Review and redesign if needed
- Ensure that Sarvath's is good, and see if we need to make any
changes to the design
- Look into where the batteries would be placed, etc.
[S20.O4.K2] Build the design out on one of the motors, ensure that
it works as expected
[S20.O4.K3] Build the electric dummy
- Will need to sync up with Mech so that they get the new base built
as needed.
- Build and valid the design at the test track.
[S20.O4.K4] Test Dummy at a drive crew session
- Get feedback as needed and reiterate design.
[S20.O5] Radars
Getting the radars working in the car
[S20.O5.K1] Look at the progress that we have made already on the
Radars
- Look at the power systems documentation for the radars, see the plan
that we have come up with so far.
[S20.O5.K2] Come up with a plan
-
Ensure that we have plan for how we are going to organize the
cables.
-
[Ensuring a proper and secure design for powering the
radars.]
-
Simulations, design is able to power the radars properly
-
[Consider purchasing things which are able to be placed early in the
term so we can install everything once campus
opens]
[S20.O5.K3] Install the radars
- Test and make sure that they are working properly.
