We have 2 network switches. The 10G switch was purchased in S19 to meet bandwidth requirements of our sensors. The 2 switches can be used concurrently. A switch forwards frames (link layer packets) based on MAC addresses. If houses addresses were IP addresses, and ethernet cables were road segments, an ethernet switch would be an intersection. It should operate transparently with no configuration. They are hereby referred to as the 1G switch and the 10G switch.
1G Switch: Netgear GS316 16 Port Ethernet Switch
10G Switch: Netgear XS708T 8 Port Ethernet Switch
The rugged comes with 2 10G NICs.
10G Interfaces: Intel Ethernet Controller X540-AT2
